Anaheim Mighty Ducks
Days before the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim were to change their name to the Anaheim Ducks, the city council approved an agreement guaranteeing the word Anaheim can't be eliminated from the National Hockey League franchise. The club becomes the Anaheim Ducks today. The agreement, unanimously approved on Tuesday, follows the embarrassment this year when the city failed to keep baseball club owner Arte Moreno from changing his team's name from the Anaheim Angels to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. |
